Since starting the season, Longoria has stumbled a bit, going 0-for-14 and striking out five times. It's too small of a sample size to infer anything from it and Longoria will undoubtedly right himself if he's not called to the big club first, but it's worth noting.Aside from starting his free agent clock, this seems to have been a solid move for the Rays. I can't imagine the pressure really building for a Tampa rookie - especially compared to other teams in the American League - but it's probably best not to rush him up.
Unless, of course, you're a Rays fan or a fantasy baseball nerd.
